LifeSpring Inc. Awarded $1.4 million Contract for Turning Point Center
LifeSpring Inc. is pleased to announce a two-year award from the Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction to expand services at Turning Point Center. Located on LifeSpring’s Recovery Campus, the Turning Point Center is a twenty-seven bed facility providing substance abuse detoxification and residential services. Due to restrictions on traditional funding streams, the facility typically only serves nine clients at a time. The award from the Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction, valued at over $1.4 million, will provide subsidies for 18 beds to serve clients unable to pay for treatment. Read More

Jeffersonville mother keeps ‘Shining for Sarah’
Cherie Glaab suspects people may be avoiding her, figuring it is better to say nothing to her. Figure again, please. Glaab wants and needs her daughter Sarah, who was 18 when she committed suicide, to be remembered. Sarah was a cookie-selling Girl Scout and a repeat donor to Locks of Love. A senior at Jeffersonville High, she mostly did well in school and turned out extraordinary artwork. She loved animals and would join mom on the couch for TV, even on the evening of her death. SAMHSA Estimates 5.9% of Youth Aged 12-14 Drink Alcohol

Clark County Council Approves Money for Crisis Intervention Team
CLARK COUNTY, IN — (February 11, 2011) The Clark County Council on Monday night approved funding for a Crisis Intervention Team grant, which includes $42,500 for a salary ordinance.
